GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating)
GVWR is the maximum allowed weight of the tow vehicle itself when loaded, including passengers, cargo, fluids and the trailer's tongue weight pressing down on the hitch.
How this site uses it
GVWR is printed on the certification label on the driver's door jamb. It is the figure that overrides anything on this site for your specific vehicle.
Payload is GVWR minus curb weight. Tongue weight counts against payload, so a trailer within the trailer rating can still put a vehicle over GVWR when the cab and bed are loaded.
